Gmail Paper?

Ever wondered how Google get the idea of

Gmail Paper ?

Well, I read an article today and found a possible source of the idea.

Gmail/Google Mail is a free email service provided by Google. But before Gmail (from Google) was announce, there are already many company using Gmail as their service name/ or company name. One of the example is Garfield.com, it once provide free email, namely gmail and used the gmail.com. But the email service had been discontinued since Garfield's web site move to another domain.

In Germany, Gmail is officially called Google Mail. It is because there is a company named 'G-mail'. The company provide the service of printing the email send by customer and then send the print-out by mail to intended recipients.

So, I think Google got the Gmail Paper idea from 'G-mail'.

For people who don't know Gmail Paper:

It is one of Google's April Fool's Day joke in 2007. You just need to click a button, Gmail will print the selected email(s) and then mail them to you.
