Pixen 3 - Pushing Pixels to the Limits

Pixen is a nice pixel editor designed especially for Mac OS X (v10.4++). It's designed entirely for Pixel artists (people who draw low-resolution art like the sprites you saw in old video games). It is just like MS Paint, but more powerful.

-- Features --
- Layers
- Animations
- Well-organized palette
- Useful Tile View
- Extensive file format support!
- Unique left/right tool system
- FREE!

*Pixen is made by OpenSword.org

Pixen is available HERE!

The WebSite also includes another useful companion for Pixen

That is Reptile - Map Editing for Mac OS X

Like what the title says, it lets you place you tile in order and saves as a map.

Google Lively

On Tuesday, Google launched a new service called Lively, its a 3D Web-based virtual world (something like Second Life, but easier to use). You can create your own rooms (or places) with the provided props. You can show Youtube Video through virtual TVs and Picasa photos through virtual photo frame. You can also fully customise your avatar. Google Desktop gadgets can also be displayed. You can upload music from your computer to play it in your room. Best of all, it can be embedded in your website or blog.
For now, it only supports Windows XP/Vista, MS IE/Firefox.

[EDIT]- Lively had been closed for other projects, it had its last day on December 31, 2008.
